The Heath & Hampstead Society organises monthly guided walks for anyone interested in the history, conservation and ecology of Hampstead Heath. Walks are usually held on the first Sunday of the month.
In December, Hampstead’s Heath pictorial historian and archaeologist Michael Hammerson interprets what lies beneath, adding a new dimension to your enjoyment of the Heath.
Meet at the entrance to Kenwood Walled Garden, off Hampstead Lane, at 10:30am. Walks last approximately two hours.
You are recommended to wear suitable footwear as conditions may be rough or muddy. You will be invited to make a minimum donation of £5 per adult, collected at the beginning of each walk, to help support future development of the walks programme and the Society’s activities.
The Society doesn’t organise walks specifically for children but they are always welcome so long as they are suitably shod, can walk reasonable distances and are accompanied by an adult taking full responsibility for them.
Note that numbers may be restricted and booking may be needed. For further information contact Thomas Radice on 07941 528 034 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
