The Heath & Hampstead Society organises monthly guided walks for anyone interested in the history, conservation and ecology of Hampstead Heath. Walks are usually held on the first Sunday of the month.
In July, discover all things astronomical and the rich heritage around the Heath with Lester Hillman, academic adviser to the Camden Tour Guides Association and to the Islington Archaeology and History Association.
Meet at the bus stop by Parliament Hill Fields at 2:30 pm. Walks last approximately two hours.
You are recommended to wear suitable footwear as conditions may be rough or muddy. You will be invited to make a minimum donation of £5 per adult, collected at the beginning of each walk, to help support future development of the walks programme and the Society’s activities.
The Society doesn’t organise walks specifically for children but they are always welcome so long as they are suitably shod, can walk reasonable distances and are accompanied by an adult taking full responsibility for them.
Note that numbers are restricted and advanced booking is essential. Call or email Lester on 07941 528 034 , or firstname.lastname@example.org.
