The Heath & Hampstead Society organises monthly guided walks for anyone interested in the history, conservation and ecology of Hampstead Heath. Walks are usually held on the first Sunday of the month.
In September, join the walk to hear about our autumn birds.
Despite its urban location there’s always something interesting to spot on the Heath: Bittern, Golden Oriole and Honey Buzzard have all come our way before! Nothing promised … but you never know. The walk leader is John Hunt, former Chairman of the Marylebone Birdwatching Society.
Meet at Burgh House at 9:30 am. Walks last approximately two hours.
You are recommended to wear suitable footwear as conditions may be rough or muddy. You will be invited to make a minimum donation of £5 per adult, collected at the beginning of each walk, to help support future development of the walks programme and the Society’s activities.
The Society doesn’t organise walks specifically for children but they are always welcome so long as they are suitably shod, can walk reasonable distances and are accompanied by an adult taking full responsibility for them.
Note that numbers may be restricted and booking may be needed. For further information contact Thomas Radice on 07941 528 034 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
