Wild Life Hut
WILD LIFE INFORMATION HUT ~
Situated at the top of the Sports Field, close to The Pavilion Cafe, this hut houses a delightful display of everything the visitor could possibly want to know about Highgate Wood.
There are pictorial representations of all wild life found in The Wood, The wood's history and news of current day scientific and schools projects.
Well worth a visit and there are remains here of an ancient kiln built by The Romans!

This is part of the original Roman Kiln that was found in Highgate Woods during the archaeological digs during the 1970s.
It is approximately 2000 years old.
We would like to bring the whole Kiln back to is home here in Highgate Woods but will have to expand the Information Hut slightly to house it properly and to ensure its long term integrity.
We are currently trying to raise the funds to carry out the necessary changes to the building.
