1935: London modernism
Designed by Maxwell Fry in 1935, a truly sublime architectural statement.
This was Fry's first London building, and an 'object lesson in facade composition', was one of the most important embodiments of the modern, international movement of the 1930s in Hampstead.
It is still a draw for architectural students, and is feted for its horizontally banded windows and white stucco finish.
