The City of London has resurfaced and enhanced the pathway that links Millfield Lane and East Heath Road/Spaniards Road
Safety and habitat were prioritised.
There have been improvements to sightlines and protection afforded to adjacent trees and the ancient hedge and field margin.
On completion of the works, wild flower seed was sown and the path has now been  moved away slightly from the hedgeline, to protect roots from being compacted, and extra native trees will be planted to enhance the ancient hedge.
The work was planned to last for 6-8 weeks from  6 April 2010 and has been funded by Transport for  London.

Work is also taking place elsewhere on The Heath as at the Whitestone Pond project.
