THE ORANGERY ~
was added to The House in about 1700
Orangeries were built between the seventeenth and nineteenth century in larger mansions.
They served as "greenhouses" originally for luxurious woody plants, citrus fruits, shrubs and exotic plants.
The Kenwood House Orangery currently contains Explorer Back Packs, containing such tools as binoculars and magnifying glasses so that visitors can be interactive explorers of The House.
There are "Explainer Guides" throughout Kenwood House as well as "Meeters" and "Greeters"
You can view the interior rooms of Kenwood House each day, including week ends, from 10am to 5pm
(closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day)
