I used to live in Camden,I moved away a few years ago.
Today I went to the Heath and to the freedom of speech stone and was very disappointed to find so much litter strewn around and broken bottles.
Can there not be signs for people to not leave their rubbish?.
Was lovely to be on the Heath again but would of been nicer if I did not have to spend most of my time putting lazy, ignorant peoples rubbish in the bin.

Hi There! great website.
Just one note on the fungi (or funghi in italian) slides in need of an ID. What you call "Fly Agaricus" it's actually an "Amanita Muscaria" if you are looking for the real latin/scientifical name of it.
Plus, I don't know what slide is but I can also recognize a Russula (verde/green) but not sure if it's the Virescens one.
Hope it helps
Cate

I love this website,we moved from Muswell Hill to Cornwall in 1999 and make several trips back to London every year and always visit the Heath, there is nowhere quite like it and although it's a lot more crowded than it was years ago it will always be a magic place for both of us.
One problem with the website is I don't seem able to save it to my favourites but thats probably just me!
Peace'n'Love,

Have had the most fantastic day on Hampstead Heath ... feel rejuvenated after the lovely walks ... saw a mother duck and five of her chicks just walk out of some long grass in front of us ... special .. the flowers were beautiful too ... and just all of it really ... it was a very special day with my daughter.

I really enjoyed the web site, I loved to read more information about the Heath!
I lived in London for 2 years, and used to live in Golders Green, and spent many wonderful days walking around the park, or just sitting and relaxing in this marvelous place!!
I'm missing a lot the Heath, hope will be back soon. For sure this is my favorite place in the world!
Just love it.

tks, :)

I left London in 1964, having lived in Gospel oak prior to my move. Have always loved and enjoyed the Heath and to see the pictures was a joy.
Played all over the Heath as a boy and have happy memories of it, the view of London from high on parliament hill has to one of the best views ever.
I always make a point of going up there when [unhappily not often] I come up to London.

I enjoyed the site, it made it possible to view part of Romantic history without traveling to England.
